“If I suddenly start to take the blame on myself, this is a cry for help.” The figurant in the Sheremet case, doctor Kuzmenko said that she was being followed

“The situation is unpleasant: we are really being persecuted. After cases of persecution and attempts to enter Yana’s residence, I try to closely monitor, including the cars that drive next to me,” Kuzmenko wrote.

The doctor did not provide details, but stressed that she does not have suicidal moods, her car is in perfect condition, she is a very attentive driver and she does not have any health problems, including mental ones – this has been confirmed by a psychiatric examination.

“If I suddenly start taking the blame for the murder of Sheremet on myself – this is a lie, I ask you to immediately regard it as a loud cry for immediate help,” Kuzmenko summed up.

Dugar said she was being watched, an alarm goes off in the house, “there is intimidation and pressure on the psychological state”, 6 August. She suggested that those who “really know those involved in the murder of Sheremet or have anything to do with it” can put pressure on the defendants in the case.

Kuzmenko then did not rule out that she could also be followed, but I did not see evidence of this – she had only a few days before changed the measure of restraint from 24/7 to night house arrest.

Context:

Sheremet died on July 20, 2016 in Kiev as a result of blowing up a car, which belonged to the co-founder of the newspaper “Ukrainian Truth”, the journalist’s common-law wife Alena Prytula. Prosecutor’s office qualified the incident as premeditated murder, committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many people.

December 12, 2019 the then Interior Minister Arsen Avakov reported the arrest of suspects in involvement in the murder of Sheremet. Later that day, the National Police revealed the names of the likely implicated. NSthen Kuzmenko, military nurse Yana Dugar and serviceman and musician Andrey Antonenko. The defendants claim that they were not involved in the murder.

They were all arrested. Dugar court immediately sent under house arrest, and on May 25, 2020 released on bail. Kuzmenko court released under house arrest August 11, 2020 Antonenko – only on April 30, 2021.

Investigators believe that explosives were placed under Sheremet’s car Kuzmenko and Antonenko. The latter was called the organizer of a criminal group. Dugar allegedly was engaged in “intelligence”: she was looking for CCTV cameras on the route of the conspirators.

In May 2020, it became known that suspicion text changed… The new edition says that Kuzmenko only laid the explosives together with Antonenko, but did not activate them.

On May 22, 2020, the police notified the protection of the suspects on the end of the pre-trial investigation… Shevchenko District Court of Kiev decided that Antonenko, Dugar and Kuzmenko will be judged by a jury… First meeting on the merits took place on 28 September 2020.
