A vaccinologist as well as a specialist in internal medicine, dr. Dirga Sakti Rambe Sp. PD., Explained that various Covid-19 vaccine studies were carried out because the technology used was also different.
“The pandemic situation forces scientists to accelerate but stick to health protocols. In developing the Covid-19 vaccine, scientists use a variety of different platforms, with different approaches. Even though there will be many Covid-19 vaccine brands circulating, people can get more than one type of vaccine.

“WHO determines that the Covid-19 vaccine with a minimum effectiveness of 50 percent is considered sufficient. The higher the better. With various brands and vaccine candidates, it is also good if we use several, not just one. And the government is currently pursuing this,” said Doctor Dirga.
“So the government has collaborated with vaccine producers, of course, by developing vaccine technology. So that later there will be several brands of vaccines that we will use. The point is that all vaccine brands that are used have been confirmed for safety and effectiveness as determined by WHO,” he added.
In Indonesia there are several types of vaccines that are still being researched and will be given to the community later.
In the Red and White vaccine research, there will be six brands of vaccines, each of which is researched by four universities and two research institutions with different platforms.
In addition, Indonesia is also involved in clinical trials of the Covid-19 Sinovac vaccine from China.
