IDX: Exchange Trading Hours Still Refer to the Covid-19 Pandemic Conditions

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – PT Bursa Securities Indonesia ensures that the trading time in the capital market still refers to the trading time during the pandemic conditions. This confirmation was made following the many reports regarding the planned change in the exchange trading time.

“It is hereby informed that the current trading time for Equity Securities up to the time limit to be determined later is the trading time during conditions pandemic Covid-19“IDX Corporate Secretary Aulia Noviana Utami Putri said in a written statement, Friday, evening, June 4, 2021.

If there is a change in trading time in the future, said Aulia, the Exchange will further inform the change through a Decree of the Board of Directors of the Exchange.

In the same press release, Indonesia stock exchange also explained about the implementation of new features in the Jakarta Automated Trading System aka JATS. These features are planned to be implemented by the end of August 2021.

Referring to the Decree of the IDX Board of Directors Number Kep-00108/BEI/12-2020 regarding Amendment to Regulation Number II-A concerning Trading in Equity Securities on December 4, 2020, it is explained that there will be an implementation of changes to the Pre-closing session mechanism, display of Indicative Equilibrium information Price (IEP) and Indicative Equilibrium Volume (IEV) in the Pre-opening and Pre-closing sessions, adding the types of market orders (market orders), as well as extending the trading time in the Negotiated Market for 15 minutes.

The implementation of changes to the mechanism of the Pre-closing session and the extension of the Negotiated Market will have an impact on the trading time of the Exchange.

The changes include, among others, the pre-opening session of the regular market, which was originally at 08.45 WIB to 08.55 WIB, to 08.45 WIB to 08.59 WIB. In addition, the post-closing session which was originally at 15.05 WIB to 15.15 WIB, became 15.01 WIB to 15.15 WIB.

As for the cash market, session II, which started at 13.30 WIB to 15.15 WIB, became at 13.30 WIB to 15.30 WIB.
