Icetex launches forgivable credits for victims of the conflict – Education – Life

Icetex announced the opening of the call for forgivable (non-refundable) credits for studies at a technical, professional, technological and university level for victims of the armed conflict who reside in the city of Bogotá, which will be open until January 10.

This thanks to the resources of the Repair Fund for Access, Permanence and Graduation in Higher Education, which will help provide this line of credit that students will not have to pay if they meet certain requirements.

People included in the Sole Registry of Victims (RUV) or be recognized as such in the Land Restitution processes, Justice and Peace judgments, or Special Peace Jurisdiction may apply to this call.

What does the Fund finance?

People who are selected within the call will be able to access a forgivable credit to cover tuition fees (up to 11 current legal monthly minimum wages – smmlv) and support costs (up to 1.5 smmlv) on a semi-annual basis. Students will be able to access this credit from any academic semester they are studying, at the technical, professional, technological or university level as of the first semester of 2021.

The forgiveness of this credit will be granted to those who complete their study program and obtain the academic title of the program that was financed. The selection to grant the number of credits to be assigned will be made in accordance with the availability of resources by the constituents of the Fund.

Dates

Registration will be open until January 10, 2021. The publication of the selected students will be on February 2. Likewise, between February 9 and 23, the applicant must legalize the credit on the Icetex online platform.

There will be a group of applicants who will appear on the waiting list with the publication of the first result. The final results of these people will be published on February 25, 2021 so that they can carry out the legalization between March 2 and 16.
