Were you satisfied with the team’s performance?
The first third was all sorts of things, a little nervous. The opponent resisted and we were not as humble as I personally imagined. We improved our performance from the second period and were an honest team that deservedly won.
Did you need such a quiet match? So far you have not experienced any such in the tournament …
We all needed it, including me. After the first period, however, it didn’t look like a quiet match. Even though we dominated, it was still only 1: 0. I am glad that then we were able to enjoy the end of the match.

Is it a coincidence that four of the six goals were scored by the defenders?
We want defenders to support our offensive. I must say that a lot of attackers did a very good job for them in front of the gate. Already the match with Sweden helped us to kick the defenders’ goals. I am satisfied with their work.

Are you a little sorry that the attackers of Špaček and Stránský did not see the first goal in the tournament, which would certainly boost their self-confidence?
I heard in the cabin that they were hiding it for future matches. I will trust them.
The British found windows in your defense several times, especially in the first period. How big is the warning for the next course of the tournament?
After the first period, in which we did not play some situations as we should, we were a little sharper in the cabin. But it has improved since then. We have to say that the British are experiencing an incredible tournament and at certain stages they were flooded with favorites. It is no shame that they found any windows in our defense. Let’s take it apart, but I didn’t have to tame the player much during the match. The substitute itself lived by wanting to be humble and not wanting to let the opponent dramatize the match.

In the match, you let only the goalkeeper number Hrubce rest, while for the players in the field you did not make any change compared to the last duel with the Swedes. That the team plays as much as possible?
We definitely wanted not to underestimate our opponents. We saw his struggles, we knew that for the last time he had been angry with the Swedes for a long time. That’s why we started with the winning team against the Swedes, I just saved Kuba Crow a bit in the end so that his shoulder wouldn’t get worse.
