iCapital chief investment strategist Anastasia Amoroso believes that there’s a good chance the S&P 500 could rise to 5,500 by year’s end.
This target would mark an 8% increase for the benchmark, which closed at 5,071.63 on Wednesday afternoon.
Amoroso, a highly respected expert who previously worked for Google, expressed her optimism during an interview on CNBC’s Closing Bell. She emphasized the potential of semiconductor stocks to outperform going forward, which presents an attractive entry point for investors.
In citing catalysts for an encouraging equities backdrop, Amoroso highlighted strong corporate earnings, consumer spending, and a pickup in global manufacturing momentum.
