Young actor Iain Armitage has achieved a significant milestone in his aviation journey, recently celebrating his 17th birthday, which makes him eligible for his private pilot’s license. The former star of Big Little Lies has been actively pursuing his passion for flying, sharing his progress with fans on social media.
Armitage, who previously held a student pilot’s license, expressed his hope to obtain his private pilot’s license upon turning 17.He has been enjoying his flight training in Los Angeles, even marking a memorable occasion in July 2024 with his first solo flight. He took to Instagram to express his gratitude to his instructors and supporters, calling it “one of the very best days of my life.”
The young pilot also shared a heartwarming experience from his 16th birthday, where he took his grandmother for a flight. Despite his initial apprehension about flying “precious cargo,” Armitage was impressed by his grandmother’s composure. Her only expressed concern was the physical act of climbing onto the wing of the Piper plane to board.Following the flight, they enjoyed a celebratory dinner with loved ones.
Following his departure from the role of Sheldon Cooper after seven seasons, Armitage is taking a break from acting but remains eager to return to the screen.
