Disagree that it was gross violence
On Tuesday, he appeared in court with his girlfriend and former “Ex on the beach” participant Caroline Nitter. VG updates this case continuously.
In court on Tuesday, lawyer Hilde Marie Ims, who is the defender of one of the accused, says that her client admits partial guilt, but disagrees that it is gross violence.
– We disagree that the bodily harm is simply gross. That’s really it. A typical incident in the city where there is alcohol involved on both sides, she says.
Lawyer Henrik Bliksrud is defending the other man. He says in court that his client does not admit criminal guilt.
Was afraid to die
On October 6, 2021, Brennhovd was in the city of Oslo with his girlfriend. The next day he stated in an interview with VG that he ended up in the emergency room as a result of being assaulted and robbed on the street outside a nightclub. He said the attack was unprovoked and stated that he was beaten and kicked several times.
– When I came to myself I was full of blood, had a broken nose, cracked lip and no valuables, he said.
In court, he explains that he was afraid of dying.
– I felt there and then that I was going to die, because you get so stressed. Real horror, absolutely some of the worst that can happen, he said.
He also explained that the next day it felt as if he had been run over by a trailer.
Got help at the nightclub
Brennhovd explains that there is a lot he does not remember both as a result of the violence he was subjected to, that it is a long time ago, and as a result of the fact that he had been drinking.
A doorman is said to have come to and pulled Brennhovd out of the situation, according to what Brennhovd remembers. He is said to have received help inside the nightclub, and then the police are said to have arrived fairly quickly afterwards.
Brennhovd says he has not been threatening, but that he may have tried to push them away in self-defense.
Just before 12 o’clock on Tuesday, Brennhovd’s explanation was finished.
The police took the initiative
After the incident, the police opened a case on their own initiative. Two men have been charged in court this week with aggravated assault. In the indictment, the police describe the incident as follows:
“… shortly after Christian André Louis Brennhovd was beaten and / or laid on the ground by one or more unidentified persons, they hit Brennhovd in the face and / or elsewhere on the body one or more times.”
Brennhovd now hopes that the alleged perpetrators will receive their deserved punishment.
– I hope these boys get what they deserve. Maybe a couple of months in prison and that I get a redress, then I am very happy, he told VG before the trial started.
– Then I think it’s going well, and then they have received their lessons, he said.
