For the past few days, he has been at the center of all attention. Christian Brueckner is officially the number 1 suspect in the disappearance of little Maddie McCann. And since his name was brought to light, police in several countries have questioned his possible involvement in other cases of unresolved disappearances of children.
This weekend, we learn a little more about this man with a very heavy judicial past. Brigitte Brueckner, her adoptive mother, spoke to our colleagues in the Daily Mail. The individual had been taken in by the Brueckner family at birth, abandoned by his biological mother. But over the years, the boy has reportedly shown increasingly deviant behavior, to the point that the Brueckners have had no choice but to send him to a young offender facility. Particularly after Fritz Brueckner, his adoptive father, was seriously injured in a car accident and was no longer able to discipline the young boy.
“I don’t know anything about her life and I don’t want to know anything,” said Brigitte Brueckner, who says she ignores everything about the crimes of her adopted son, in the Daily Mail. According to the couple’s neighbors, the woman had become incapable of dealing with Christian’s deviant behavior while caring for her disabled husband after his car accident. “The Brueckners were a lovely couple, very kind. But what happened with their boy Christian is a disaster, ”said a neighbor. “He was often in trouble and it only got worse over time. Christian needed a firm hand to hold it in place. But after his accident, Fritz was unable to do it. ”
“I knew Christian but I haven’t seen him in years,” said another neighbor. “If it is true, it will destroy his mother. Brigitte and Fritz did everything they could for him. “
German police have said they are now investigating Brueckner’s involvement in the disappearance of René Hasse, a six-year-old boy, in the Algarve in 1994. But also in another disappearance that occurred in Germany in 2015, that of the little Igna Gehnricke, 5 years old.
