“I am prepared to testify” in Trump’s political trial, says John Bolton | Univision Politics News

John Bolton, former White House national security advisor with key knowledge of the facts surrounding the brake on aid to Ukraine, said Monday that he is willing to testify in the political trial against President Donald Trump in the Senate.

Bolton’s announcement comes precisely when the congressmen resumed functions after a two-week Christmas break in which they failed to agree or, at least, bring positions on the terms of the political trial.

The fact that Bolton expresses his willingness to appear in front of the Upper House puts the Republicans in trouble, like Senatorial leader Mitch McConnell, who has rejected the process starting calling witnesses who can shed new lights on what happened in the days when those that the White House asked to stop aid for about $ 400 million to Ukraine in exchange for political favors to the president, specifically to investigate the son of Joe Biden.

“As my testimony is again in dispute … I have determined that if the Senate issues a request to testify, I am prepared to testify,” he said in a statement.
