Hyundai’s concrete steps to develop the Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem are marked by an investment of USD 1.55 billion or equivalent to IDR 21.8 trillion to build a factory in Indonesia.

In addition to electric cars, Hyundai plans to produce compact SUVs, compact MPVs and sedan models specifically designed for the Southeast Asian market.

The investment is aimed at developing a new factory which is divided into two stages. The first phase will be carried out in the 2019-2021 period and the second phase in the 2022-2030 period.

The construction of this Hyundai production facility has started since December 2019 with an area of ​​77.6 hectares in Kota Deltamas, Cikarang Pusat, Bekasi, West Java.
