Hygienist to Slavia: We will adjust the measures according to the number of infected

Due to a positive coronavirus test with one of the footballers, Slavia prematurely terminated her training camp in Austria on Tuesday and returned to the Czech Republic. Players and other members of the Vršovice team are in home isolation.

“They will be tested on Friday and depending on how the tests turn out, it will be decided what will happen next,” Jágrová said. How many other people will be tested positively will be crucial for hygienists’ decisions. According to this, the rules for the club will be either milder or stricter.

Tvrdík reports quarantine! Slavia is infected, she canceled her concentration and went home. Will he start the league?

“Further tests await us on Friday, then on Tuesday and the exit on August 24,” Slavia spokesman Michal Býček told ČTK. “Most of the players who can be home alone are at home. We have provided accommodation for some of them,” Býček added.

Jágrová confirmed that an infected player who had not come into contact with others for a week had also returned from Austria with Slavia. “Contact has been limited since last week. He has been isolated since he had the disease,” said the director of the hygiene station.

In general, according to Jágrová, it can be said that if the same smaller groups are still training together, they could continue to prepare in this group and it would not be necessary to completely isolate the team for 14 days.

Area quarantine for the whole team is not a common practice abroad. For example, Atlético Madrid announced on Sunday that it has two players infected with covid-19. However, further tests on the remaining members of the Spanish team turned out negatively, so Atlético was able to travel to Lisbon for Thursday’s quarter-final match of the Champions League against Leipzig. Only two footballers with positive findings remained in isolation.

In the Czech Republic, the chairman of the National Sports Agency, Milan Hnilička, and other representatives of this organization are negotiating with the hygienists to change the current rules. It is likely that the quarantine may not last so long. “There is a general agreement to reduce the quarantine from 14 to ten days for the entire team. There is a large amount of data from abroad, which confirms that this is the right way to go,” the agency told ČTK.

Due to this, Hnilička has met several times with the epidemiologist and now the government’s commissioner for science and research in health care Roman Prymula. The agency will also negotiate with the chief hygienist Jarmila Rážová. It is not yet clear when the changes could be approved.

“I cannot estimate the fixed date when the result will be at the moment. But due to the near beginning of sports competitions, all parties are acting intensively so that the result is known as soon as possible,” said agency spokesman Jakub Večerka. The set conditions will then be the same for professional and amateur teams.
