Huawei and Apple experienced an increase in market share in China.

This decline shows consumers in China are tightening their spending and delaying buying mobile phones, even though the country’s economy is recovering after quarantining the region due to the corona virus pandemic. Canalys mobile industry research institute said nearly half of the cellphones shipped in China were 5G phones.
In the second quarter there were 39 million units 5G cellphone which sold or 260 percent more than the previous quarter. Canalys analyst Louis Liu explained that Chinese local brands lead 5G penetration and support cellular operators to migrate 4G users to 5G. The 5G customers there in July exceeded 100 million.
“Huawei wants to become a 5G brand in China, their 5G portfolio exceeds 60 percent of total shipments in the second quarter,” Liu said.
Meanwhile, shipments of other local brand mobile phones, namely Vivo, OPPO and Xiaomi, each dropped by 13 percent, 19 percent and 19 percent.
