Hungary and Poland are not the only countries that are “testing” EU rule of law rules | European Union

In addition to Hungary and Poland, the two Member States are formally under investigation in infringement under Article 7 of the Lisbon Treatya, the European Commission has identified other countries where the independence of the courts is under “serious threat”. In Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia and Romania, “the resilience of the rules that safeguard the rule of law is being tested” by the political power and the “flaws are becoming evident”, reads in the first annual report on the State of law in the EU, presented this Wednesday in Brussels.
