“In airplanes it is required to wear a mask because it is a place of confinement, but there is a period during the flight in which one is given water, it is a human need to consume water and I still do not know that there are mask devices that have a straw to take the liquid”.
On social networks, a photo of López-Gatell was disseminated in which he can be seen on a plane without wearing the mask, since it is the rule to use it during the flight.

At a press conference, López-Gatell Ramírez also spoke about the lack of evidence on the duration of immunity that coronavirus can generate in a person who was infected, Therefore, a person can be re-infected, even some anecdotal cases have been described of people who came out of a covid-19 picture and months later they had the infection again.

López-Gatell Ramírez also referred to the project to create a National Center for Health Diagnosis that will have attributions to evaluate all the diagnosis of private clinical laboratories, many of which they lack sufficient quality standards to make a correct assessment of a person’s clinical status.
And he clarified that the National Institute of Epidemiological Reference Diagnosis (InDRE) It is in charge of evaluating the State and Federal Network of laboratories installed throughout the country.
“In total, there are 159 laboratories endorsed by Indre that carry out the coronavirus detection test and of these 52 are private,” added José Luis Alomía Zegarra, general director of Epidemiology.
