In enough cases, cheap is indeed expensive, poor quality, materials, etc. But expensive does not mean value for money.

You pay for brand name, advertising, R&D, warranty settlements, all kinds of (peripheral) matters that say nothing about the specific quality of this product.

The Chinese brands do not have to invest in R&D because often they simply use other people’s work, they do not have to invest in worldwide advertising, locations. Often they are subsidized by the Chinese government, costs in terms of wages and personnel will be lower.

All in all, enough reasons why products can be a lot cheaper without taking a small step back in quality.

It’s great that you are a fan of a brand, such as apple, does not mean that the products are so much better in quality. That you like the ecosystem and that everything works fine is of course possible and that can also be a good reason to go for a brand.
