Huawei aims to launch its first smartphone with a selfie camera under the screen next year. Despite the intensifying American sanctions, the Chinese manufacturer tirelessly continues to innovate in the field of mobile telephony, in particular with the arrival of new generation fingerprint scanners. No camera under the screen for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro
At the same time, the manufacturer is working on a selfie camera technology under the screen. “We are working to make the fingerprint reader coexist under the entire screen with the integrated selfie cameras” Huawei explains in a press release sent to Android Authority. Huawei therefore aims to launch a device that combines these two technologies in the years to come.
To function, this identification technology requires several biometric modules. Currently, Huawei is working on reduce production costs, still very high, of this innovation. Likewise, this technology is still very energy intensive. Before it can launch mass production, Huawei is looking for a way to reduce energy consumption.
Secondly, the Chinese group returned to the timing of the marketing of these innovations. “There is no definitive date yet, but the technology is likely to hit the market in a generation or two.” specifies the brand. It is not known whether these new products will make their entry into the Mate range or the P range.
