Huawei announces smartwatch that will keep you from getting lost | NOW

Huawei announced new products at an online event on Thursday. Below that is the Huawei GT 2 Pro smartwatch, with a feature that always shows the way back.

The function is called Route Back and works with the help of GPS. Huawei says the option should help if, for example, you’re taking a walk in a location that hasn’t been visited before, but can’t remember your way back. Route Back also works offline, so an internet connection is not required.

The function shows a line on the watch with the road you have traveled. In this way, the carrier can follow his previously traveled route, like a digital breadcrumb trail.

The Watch GT 2 Pro also has a round screen that is protected by sapphire glass. It notifies you when bad weather is coming and offers over a hundred sports modes. New are a golf mode and an option to record skiing activities.

The wearable lasts thirty hours with GPS on. According to Huawei, it lasts up to two weeks on a charge with normal daily use. The GT 2 Pro will be on the market on October 5 and will cost 299 euros.

Watch Fit with virtual coach

In addition to the Watch GT 2 Pro, a rectangular smartwatch was also announced: the Watch Fit. This has a 1.64 inch screen and allows users to adjust the clocks themselves. The watch is primarily intended as fitness wearable. The Watch Fit offers twelve animations of fitness exercises that the user can simulate.

The smartwatch lasts for ten days on a battery charge. It costs 129 euros and will be on the market on September 16.

Wireless earplugs with noise cancellation

The FreeBuds Pro are new wireless earplugs from Huawei. These are caps with rectangular stems, which you can swipe to adjust the volume. The degree of noise reduction can be adjusted by squeezing with the thumb and index finger.

The earplugs can amplify voices and filter noise, which should help you make quiet calls. Without noise suppression, the battery lasts up to seven hours. With noise cancellation on, the earplugs last for 4.5 hours. The FreeBuds Pro can be charged in a box. Including interim charging, they last up to thirty hours.

The FreeBuds Pro will be released October 5 for 179 euros. They come out in black, white and silver.
