So far it is becoming apparent – across the country – that it rained significantly too much from the beginning of June to the end of August taken together. In July alone, around 40 percent more rainfall was recorded than would have been expected given the average of the comparative years from 1961 to 1990, as stated in the DWD’s monthly balance sheet.

And how is summer doing in Berlin and Brandenburg? Data from meteorologists for the federal states are also expected on Monday (August 30, 2021).

In a comparison across Germany, July was the most summery in Berlin and Brandenburg. As the DWD announced in a monthly balance sheet, it was warmest in the federal capital with an average of 20.7 degrees in July, followed by Brandenburg with 20.1 degrees.
