Of the relatively highly valued FAANG stocks, Facebook is one of the cheaper ones. On Facebook, I still find the growth in sales and profits very remarkable. With an investment horizon of 5 years, a doubling of the price of Facebook shares is quite realistic if the growth rates are similar to those in the past. In my opinion, even with slightly lower growth in the future, this growth is not yet fully priced into the share price. I can also benefit directly from the growing online market in India via Facebook. Facebook invested over $ 5 billion in 2020 for an approximately 10% stake in the Indian company Reliance JIO. If a Jio becomes something like PayPal or Alibaba in the Indian market in 5 to 10 years, the price of a Facebook share is free from today’s perspective. Facebook uses the massive annual cash flow of billions to invest in promising markets and technologies. Jio, Virtual Reality are just a few of Facebook’s future bets. Facebook has a rock solid and highly profitable business to cope with failures running into billions. |
