“Steirertod” on TV: That’s what the thriller is about
Two murders of prostitutes in a similar way – no wonder that Commissioner Sandra Mohr (Miriam Stein) suspects a connection. The obvious suspicion that a serial killer could be up to mischief in Styria is initially dismissed by her superior Sascha Bergmann (Hary Prinz). The evidence is still too meager for him, and his attention is currently more on his career and the prospect of promotion. When the state police department put a boss in front of him, Bergmann was flabbergasted. The self-confident profiler Nicole Sturm (Bettina Mittendorfer) is not a stranger, but an ex who he left for another woman. Meanwhile, Bergmann’s heavily pregnant colleague and almost daughter-in-law, Sandra, is ignoring his orders to limit herself to gentle office work. On the way home at night, the inspector observes a suspicious scene with a prostitute (Lara Mandoki) who seems to be afraid of a customer (Wolfgang Rauh). Sandra intervenes, a shot is fired, the woman flees and the man escapes! Bergmann and his new colleague Anni Sulmtaler (Anna Unterberger) realize that they must find the terrified witness before the extremely sophisticated killer can find them. A race against time begins.
