Do you hate scratching towels? No wonder they should be soft and still fluffy. We will reveal to you the secrets of first-class hotels, which are helped by soft baking towels and organic baking soda.

Each of us longs for wonderfully soft towels, which we can dive into like a duvet. Unfortunately, sometimes an unwanted mistake occurs. After washing, towels are uncomfortably rough and hard. Fortunately, the softness can be restored to towels and you do not need any chemicals. Commonly available ingredients will suffice.

Why don’t they absorb towels and lose their softness?

Soft towels are not only pleasant to the touch, but also protect and soothe the skin after a bath or shower. Therefore, it also depends on the absorbency, which will quickly and safely remove moisture from you without the need for strong friction. So if the towels are hard, non-absorbent and scratchy, they are actually non-functional.

Don’t make unnecessary mistakes

The most common cause of hard and scratch towels is washing in hard water. Water with many minerals wraps the fibers of the towel, which harden and lose their absorbency.

Another mistake is the inappropriate care of towels. They are often washed together with other laundry, which greatly damages them. In order for the towels to wash properly, they need to have enough space around them. The towels are not only suffocated in the washing machine, but also badly washed. Many times dirt and detergent residues remain on them. Towels are then rough and uncomfortable. So definitely avoid a crowded washing machine.

Avoid fabric softeners

Too much detergent and fabric softener do not lead to cleaner and softer towels. It’s a big mistake! At most, this will encourage the growth of bacteria and fungi and reduce absorbency. Basically, you don’t need fabric softener to wash towels at all. If you have already overdone it with fabric softener, it can be corrected by washing the towels once more in warmer water together with 240 ml of ammonia.

Baking soda will give towels proper care

120 g of baking soda will suffice for rough and faded towels. Removes dirt, musty odors and loosens individual fibers. After washing, shake the towels well and dry them in the dryer. If you use a dryer, shake them and tighten them carefully before placing them in the dryer. Put the sneakers in the drum and set the drying to medium heat. At first glance, they may be stiff after removal, but they just need to be easily rubbed and folded. Some even brush towels.

To eliminate the negative effect of fabric softeners, add one more extra rinse cycle after washing, to which you will add 240 ml of white vinegar instead of detergent.

Vinegar will fix everything

You may have experienced that some of the water softeners you bought softened your towels a little, but you must have noticed that the absorbency has not improved much. Commercial emollients contain silicon, which tends to impair the absorbent properties of towels. However, vinegar will save you. To eliminate the negative effect of fabric softeners, add one more extra rinse cycle after washing, to which 240 ml of white vinegar will be added instead of detergent. Vinegar removes not only silicon from towels, but also excess detergent and grease. Towels are not only more fluffy after washing with vinegar, but also absorb well.
