How to receive TV Puls Puls 2 DVB-T2 / HEVC Radomsko Tomaszów Mazowiecki Częstochowa

The introduction of additional stations was accompanied by a change in modulation. This translated into a reduction in the range of the MUX-L3. Some viewers who have used this multiplex so far have lost access to it. In the MWE Group’s multiplexes, the Gold TV channel was replaced by Nuta Gold. In the launched at the end of March this year. the test multiplex MWE in DVB-T2 / HEVC in Katowice, the music station replaced the Home TV channel.

Currently, MUX-L3 includes: Filmax, Nuta.TV, Nuta Gold, Power TV, Red Carpet, Stars.TV, TV Okazje, TVC and Xtreme TV, which recently replaced Super TV. The MWE Group is the operator of local multiplexes: MUX-L1 (Jelenia Góra), MUX-L3 (Radomsko, Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Częstochowa), MUX-L4 (Wrocław, Świdnica) and experimental multiplexes in DVB-T2 / HEVC in Szczecin and Katowice. Test emissions in Warsaw and the Tri-City may begin soon. – Mr. Robert Berger (editor’s note, technical director of MWE Networks) is working intensively on it – reveals Wirtualnemedia.pl Michał Winnicki, founder of the MWE group.

Changing the standard of digital terrestrial television

MWE local multiplexes are broadcast in the old DVB-T standard. Currently, the process of transitioning the nationwide MUX-1, MUX-2, MUX-4 multiplexes to DVB-T2 / HEVC is underway. Most commercial stations in the following voivodeships: Lubuskie, Dolnośląskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Pomorskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Wielkopolskie and in the north-western part of the Mazowieckie voivodships already broadcast in the new standard. By the end of June this year. the changes will cover the whole country.

The National Media Institute estimates that 1.7 million households have televisions and tuners incompatible with the new standard. Thus, 3-4 million potential viewers may lose access to major commercial stations. Thanks to the application of the Minister of the Interior and Administration to the President of the Office of Electronic Communications on DVB-T2 / HEVC, it does not have to pass MUX-3 until the end of 2023, where the main stations of Telewizja Polska are available (including TVP1, TVP2, TVP Info and TVP Sport ). In places with local multiplexes, you can watch selected commercial channels in the old DVB-T standard.

At the beginning of March, TV Puls and Puls 2 joined MUX-L4, operating in Wrocław and Świdnica. TVN HD and Polsat HD were already available in this multiplex. Thanks to such broadcasts, private stations compensate for the possible loss of viewers who do not have DVB-T2 / HEVC compatible equipment. In the Łódzkie and Śląskie voivodeships, where MUX-L3 is operating, which has been joined by TV Puls and Puls 2, the standard will be changed on May 23 this year.

Head of TV Puls concerned about the broadcast of TVP in the old standard

The decision of the President of UKE after the request of the Ministry of Interior and Administration is dissatisfied with commercial broadcasters, who are afraid of losing viewers and advertising revenues to TVP. – The entire media market is on the eve of changing the standard of terrestrial television broadcasting in Poland. Meanwhile, the President of UKE, at the request of the Minister of Interior and Administration indicating a dubious legal basis in it, makes at the last minute, without any consultation with the market, a completely incomprehensible decision to postpone the date for MUX-3 until December 31, 2023. This is an absolutely scandalous and unacceptable situation, resulting in unequal and discriminatory treatment of commercial broadcasters. Since the time for TVP channels available on MUX-3 is being extended, why not the entire broadcasting market? – asked rhetorically in an interview with Wirtualnemedia.pl Dariusz Dąbski, president of Telewizja Puls.

– Maintaining the broadcasting of TVP channels in the old standard will reduce the pace of adaptation of viewers to the new standard. And remember that as many as 1.7 million households using only terrestrial television do not have a DVB-T2 / HEVC ready receiver. For us, it is a loss of the DVB-T market – the decision of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, UKE and KRRiT will lead to significant losses. Moreover, the government’s information campaign on such an important issue is insufficiently conducted and is of low quality, the suggestions of commercial broadcasters in this regard were ignored. We have always been and are always open to dialogue, but this time the situation got out of hand – we will not be passive and we will react decisively by taking actions towards decision-making bodies. We will also seek judicial compensation for losses that we will undoubtedly incur in connection with this situation – announced the head of TV Puls. For several weeks, UKE has been talking about changing the standard of digital terrestrial television with private broadcasters. Still, there was no agreement that would satisfy the commercial stations. The next meeting is planned for May 9.
