Love is perhaps one of the most popular words in any language. After all, it denotes a feeling without which it is impossible to imagine our life. It is mysterious, but at the same time, scientists do not stop exploring it in order to understand how romantic relationships are built between people. So, for example, a few years ago, scientists from Canada conducted a large-scale survey in which about 2,000 volunteers of different ages took part. As researchers who were interested in the beginning and development of relationships managed to find out, 68% of those surveyed were first friends with their soul mates, and then began to meet. Most often, this development was observed among twenty-year-olds – in this age group, friendship was transformed into a romance in 85% of cases. According to the authors of the study, the results of the survey refute the common myth of love at first sight. Scholars say that this is nothing more than a pattern imposed by popular culture – romantic films, books, fairy tales, etc. It’s time to rethink this stereotype and abandon it.
