As more and more people in Latvia rush to get vaccinated against Covid-19, more and more questions about Covid-19 certificates also arise. A Covid-19 overdose certificate will be issued and will be valid if at least 11 days have elapsed since a positive test (Coronovirus 2019-nCov RNA). Such a certificate will be valid for 180 days after the test, Stalberg said.

She also explained that it was important to keep in mind that only the first vaccination certificate would be available after the first vaccination, with the exception of one vaccine of the Janssen vaccine, as a vaccination certificate would be available after that.

In turn, after receiving the second vaccine, a vaccination certificate will be available, which will be recognized as valid for use in the territory of Latvia and entry only if after “Comirnaty” (“Pfizer-BioNTech”), “Spikevax” (“Moderna”), “Vaxzevria” ( “AstraZeneca”) at least 15 days have elapsed since the second vaccination.

The validity period of the vaccination certificate in Latvia is not specified.

By Thursday, 4 November, a total of 1,569,574 vaccination certificates, 110,030 disease certificates and 342,401 laboratory test certificates had been issued.

As Stalberg added, one person can have several certificates, for example, for the second and third pots received or a certificate of both illness and vaccination.

The certificate must also be regenerated in the event of a change of surname.

It has already been reported that it is possible to create a Covid-19 certificate on the website “covid19sertifikats.lv” by connecting to it via the portal “latvija.lv” using your internet bank.

On the other hand, those residents who do not use the Internet or cannot connect to the website to create their own certificate can go to large city, as well as state and municipal customer service centers.

A more detailed explanation of the certificates can be found at here.

To reduce the spread of Covid-19 infection in Latvia by January 11 a state of emergency has been declared, with the entry into force of a number of restrictions aimed at preventing the spread of Covid-19.

Stricter restrictions, or “housekeeping”, prohibiting people from staying outside their place of residence from 8 pm to 5 am are valid until 15 November.
