As of June 2020, the “FOVISSSTE-Infonavit individual” credit will come into force which plans to benefit beneficiaries who are listed in both institutions with mortgage financing of up to 1,600,000 pesos.

In an update, Agustín Gustavo Rodríguez López, Executive Member of the ISSSTE Housing Fund (FOVISSSTE), referred that workers will be able to unite their credits from FOVISSSTE and the Institute of the National Fund for Housing for Workers (Infonavit), to acquire a new or used house.

The workforce benefiting from this scheme would be, mainly, doctors, nurses and teachers.

The antecedent of this program is the cofinanced FOVISSSTE-Infonavit Individual loan that was published in July 2014. And it is an alternative to the conjugal financing scheme, where a couple that is listed on FOVISSSTE as on Infonavit, can add their credits and obtain more mortgage financing. .

During the second semester of this year there will be a estimated placement of 500 credits “FOVISSSTE-Infonavit individual”, which will represent a spill of 800,000,000 pesos, according to Rodríguez López.

The requirements to apply to the “FOVISSSTE-Infonavit individual” are:

Be a contributor to Infonavit

Being a state worker on active duty

Have at least 9 two-month contributions to FOVISSSTE

Exercise a FOVISSSTE credit for the first time

Not be in the process of granting a temporary or permanent pension

Applicants to this benefit are also required not to present discounts for alimony that prevent amortization of the mortgage loan.

Rodríguez López pointed out that the estimated beneficiaries are due to the “start” of the program, but it will gradually grow.

The FOVISSSTE Executive Member noted that It is a “novel” program, however, a similar financing scheme had already been agreed on June 27, 2014, in a Board of Directors session and, subsequently, made official on July 24 of that same year. At the same press conference, Agustín Gustavo Rodríguez López added that, from January to May of this 2020, FOVISSSTE has granted 523 “Marital” type loans for 334,600,000 pesos.

In material terms it means the acquisition of 397 new homes and 126 used ones. This represents an advance of the 37% of the projected for the entire current year.

It is a support where spouses can pool their credits to obtain an amount of up to 1,133,172 pesos to acquire new or used housing. These credits are also sponsored by Infonavit.
