Sonja Blattmann and Karin Derks have been running their MuT center for violence prevention for children, parents and teachers in Kandern for ten years. Her main resources are music and theater.
Karin Derks (65) is a studied musician and has taught accordion and orchestral conducting at the music school in Moers in North Rhine-Westphalia for 20 years. In Moers she founded a theater for children and young people, which she directed for 31 years. Every year she organized a theater festival at which Sonja Blattmann (58) from Binzen was a “regular guest”. Blattmann has been working as an author and children’s songwriter in violence prevention since the mid-1990s, and at the end of the 1980s she helped found the women’s advice center in Lrrach and worked there for many years.
