Houston Symphony’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert

Houston Symphony‍ to⁢ Present Harry Potter and teh Sorcerer’s Stone In Concert

The Houston ⁤Symphony will present Harry potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert, a unique event pairing ⁤a ⁤full screening of the beloved film with a live‍ orchestral‌ performance of its iconic score.⁤ Performances are scheduled for ​Friday,​ July ​21, 2017, ‍at 7:30 ⁤p.m., ⁤and Saturday, July 22, 2017, at both 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.at Jones Hall ‌for the⁣ Performing​ Arts, located ⁤at 615 Louisiana Street in houston’s Theater District.

The concert‌ series‍ aims ⁢to immerse ‌audiences in the magical world of⁤ Harry Potter,‍ allowing them to experience the‍ film’s ‍story and characters alongside⁢ the live music.As‍ stated by the ⁢ Harry⁢ Potter ⁤Film Concert Series,the event offers a chance to “enjoy returning to ⁣this⁣ magical world,and ⁤to ‌the many wonderful characters that inhabit it.”

Nicholas Buc ⁤will conduct the Houston ⁢Symphony during these​ performances.Buc is​ a versatile⁢ musician, working as a composer, conductor, arranger, violinist, and pianist. He holds degrees from the University of Melbourne⁢ and New York university (where he received ‌the Brian May Scholarship for Australian film composers).His compositions have been ​premiered by prominent⁣ orchestras and choirs, ‍and he has contributed ⁢to film, television, and arrangements​ for popular⁤ artists​ including Tina ⁣Arena, The whitlams, and passenger. He has also conducted ‍performances of Pixar⁢ in Concert, Star Trek Live ‌in Concert, Psycho with Orchestra, ⁤and Back ⁤to ​the ‍Future Live in Concert.

The Houston Symphony, founded ‌in 1913, is ‍one of the oldest performing ⁢arts ⁢organizations‍ in Texas. With an annual operating budget of $33.9 million and⁤ a​ full-time ⁤ensemble of 88 ‍professional musicians, the Symphony presents nearly 170 concerts annually and over 900 community-based performances each year. This event ‌marks the Symphony’s fourth season with ‍Music Director⁤ Andrés Orozco-Estrada and continues its ‌second century of service to the Houston community.
