Hospital BOR for Covid-19 Patients in Jakarta is Increasing

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said the use of beds for treating Covid-19 patients or Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) has increased.

For isolated patients in hospitals, for example, Riza said the increase was happening from day to day along with the higher number of Covid-19 cases. As for today, the number of Covid-19 cases in Jakarta increased by 566.

“If we look at the existing data there is an increase in BOR, from 3,579 (available), 677 or 19 percent used, there is an increase from day to day,” Riza said in a voice recording, Sunday (16/1/2022).

He also explained that the number of beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Jakarta is currently being used by 32 of the 591 available beds.

“ICU increased slightly, yes, from four (percent) a few days ago up to five percent, only up one percent,” said Riza.

The Covid-19 cases in Jakarta as of January 16, 2022 reached 870,929 with details of 3,816 active cases, 853,522 recovered cases and 13,591 deaths.

The Gerindra politician said that despite an increase in active cases, health facilities in Jakarta were still in a safe condition.

Riza claimed, the safe condition was the result of the Covid-19 vaccination in Jakarta which had been carried out more than the specified target.

As of today, Sunday, January 16, 2022, the Covid-19 vaccination in Jakarta has reached 12,057,971 doses, with a proportion of 70 percent of residents with Jakarta ID cards and 30 percent residents with ID cards outside Jakarta.

For the second dose, DKI has carried out 9,458,923 injections, with a proportion of 71 percent having Jakarta ID cards and the rest having ID cards outside Jakarta.

For booster vaccination, Riza explained that DKI has carried out 143,020 injections.

“Nakes have 74,020, non health workers 69,000,” he said.
