The first autumn victory. What does Příbram mean to you?
I’m really happy, especially for the player. The improvement came already in Brno, where the boys gave a clear signal with their approach that they are aware of our situation. We lost there from the fourth minute, but in the end we managed to grab a point. We had good moments against Boleslav in some phases of the match, we scored two goals and won for the first time in the autumn. We all hope that this will not be the last victory for a long time.
Did you feel great relief?
You know I do, and not just me. It was clear from the team that we had consolidated our game, we stabilized the line-up. It is known that the boys are together for longer, the players who recovered also helped us. The coronavirus also intervenes, when the player is eliminated for ten days. This is nothing special now, but we have to find the optimal composition even in this situation. We can’t play every match with five other players, that’s awfully known. We are really happy for three points.

You scored in two matches in a row. Is it a sign that Příbram is rising?
We fell to the very bottom in Slovácko, where we played really bad. We were also unlucky, we got two goals from penalties. We bounced back from that game floor in Brno, we took a step higher with Boleslav and I believe that we will continue. I think we can play with everyone. We will definitely not win all the matches. We still have a lot of work to do. We still make unnecessary mistakes, they were there today. We could have lost the match, but we survived the chances of the guests. So we still have to show ourselves what we are doing wrong. It’s definitely positive that the boys were able to turn the game around. We have taken an important step, but we must follow up.

You had more chances than two goals …
I see in the players that they want to, they also show successful actions, unfortunately not all of them catch up. But the guys show a certain quality. We also need to improve the final combination so that there are even more chances.
The team in the second half was moved by Tomáš Pilík and Stanislav Vávra decided with a great shot. Are these two players you can rely on?
There are more of them, but Tomáš really moved the team, he can do it, so he went to the field as an experienced player. He himself had a great chance when he went to the goalkeeper, he did not turn it, which is a pity, because he would deserve a goal for the performance. We snatched the stand a few times in the first half, but not only his. He handled some situations badly. He came to us from Sokolov, where he didn’t play much, he had a game deficit. I’ve known him for a long time, and I believed he would help us. He is grateful for the chance he gets. In each match, he gets into at least two interesting situations. The question then is the ending. Bolce scored his second goal this season and was great. His handicap is in little emphasis in front of the goal. He plays regularly and pays off the trust.

The media speculated that you were in danger of ending up on the Příbram bench. Did you feel pressure from the club management?
I don’t feel unbearable pressure, but I’m not stupid. We didn’t win eight matches, the results are decisive, and we didn’t have them. It was clear that the dissatisfaction was great. Of course, changing to the position of a coach is the easiest in such a situation. But I have a clean table, I do my best to be successful. And I hope we build on this victory.
