Authority Iran reported to have run die more than 500 people so far in 2022, much more than last year.
This was reported by the Norwegian-based human rights group Iran Human Rights (IHR). AFP extension, Tuesday (6/12/2022), that at least 504 people have been executed in Iran this year. The group is currently working to confirm more cases of people said to have been hanged.
The figures come at a time of growing concern that authorities will use them Death penalty widely against those involved in the anti-regime protests that erupted in Iran since last September.

IHR’s tally includes four people who, according to official media, were sentenced to death on Sunday for alleged collaboration with Israeli intelligence services.
According to the IHR, they executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj outside Tehran, the Iranian capital, also known as Gohardasht, just seven months after his arrest.
“These people were sentenced to death without due process of law or a fair trial behind closed doors by the Revolutionary Court,” IHR director Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said in a statement. “Their convictions have no legal validity,” he added.
“This execution was intended to create public fear and divert public attention from the Islamic republic’s intelligence failures,” he added.
