TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Based on the Counterpoint Research report, Honor has surpassed Xiaomi in terms of smartphone sales in China throughout August 2021. Honor managed to climb into the top three largest smartphone brands in the country behind Oppo and vivo.
The latest Counterpoint report published at the end of September noted an 18 percent increase in Honor’s monthly smartphone sales throughout August. It is billed as the fastest growing among smartphone brands that dominate China’s domestic market.
Tarun Pathak from Counterpoint said Honor has successfully rebuilt its business after being independent from Huawei. Honor is said to be able to restore relations with component providers and increase the quality of its human resources to regain Huawei’s top position in the country.
The Honor 50 series smartphones have been an important part of Honor’s revival in the mid-range smartphone segment. Meanwhile, the Magic3 lineup is considered to have received good reception from the mobile segment market flagship China.
Counterpoint Research predicts that Honor will tighten competition in the market China in the second half of 2021. However, in the global market, it is estimated that Honor will still find it difficult to compete until it is able to rebuild its distribution network.
