HomePod mini finally in Sweden

The HomePod Mini hasn’t been available in normal sales channels in the Nordic countries because, among other things, they don’t support Apple’s voice control in Swedish. But now the little talker’s smart assistant Siris is up to date and understands Swedish.

The spherical HomePod mini will be on sale from December 13 for SEK 1,295 each. And yes, you can link several together, either in stereo or by linking speakers in multiple rooms.

HomePod mini doesn’t take up much space, is just 8.4 cm tall and is controlled with an iPhone, iPad or from the touch pad above the speaker.

Despite its small size, Apple says the HomePod mini delivers rich, clear sound. They achieved this, they say, by placing an upside-down full-range driver inside the speaker. It plays in a bowl-shaped chamber, and the perforations all around should provide 360-degree sound from the tiny HomePod mini.

Three microphones pick up what you say when you ask Siri to turn on the music or check the weather forecast. Siri works here the same way as on an iPhone.

One or more HomePod minis should work just fine with Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and the huge selection of online radio stations, but of course you can stream from Tidal or Spotify just as you can with any Bluetooth speaker.

The cool thing about HomePod mini is that you can connect it to a Apple TV 4K and use the HomePod mini as a TV speaker. Preferably in stereo, of course.

With the tiny HomePod mini, you can also control your home’s smart products with voice commands. Apple is also among the many members of Matter, which allows you to control smart products from different manufacturers via Siri.

The speaker also has intercom, so you can text from one to all of your Apple devices, even via Apple CarPlay in the car.

HomePod mini will be available in white, space gray, blue, orange or yellow, for the aforementioned SEK 1,295, from December 13 in the Apple Store and in numerous stores.
