The Board of Directors of Al-Hilal Club of Sudan apologized to the Egyptian people and Al-Ahly for the events that took place in the Al-Ahly match in the last round of the group stage in the African Champions League.
“We apologize to the Egyptian and Al-Ahly people for what happened, but they are unilaterally individual cases that there will be a riot in the match,” Mahgoub Abdel Qadir, the club’s public relations official, said in exclusive statements to Al-Watan Sport.
He added: “We hope that Al-Ahly will represent the Nile Valley in the final of Africa, and we wish him success as he comes from the championship.”
The Al-Ahly and Al-Hilal match witnessed unfortunate events from a few on the part of Al-Hilal fans, spoiled a large part of the match, especially since the match’s referee had to stop the match for 10 minutes until the fans ended their riots and feared for the players ’safety.
