During the upcoming Holy Week, from April 6 to April 10, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will suspend the number coding scheme in Manila to ease travel for commuters. The government has also declared these days as holidays. The MMDA has established a multiagency command center (MACC) to monitor transport terminals, particularly bus terminals, to secure the safe passage of passengers. The MACC will ensure a peaceful and meaningful observance of Lent this year. In preparation for Holy Week, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) will also deploy more personnel to major airports to manage the influx of travelers.
