In the Garuda Indonesia Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) this morning, Ministry of BUMN as the majority shareholder decided to appoint Prasetio as Director of Finance and Risk Management of Garuda Indonesia. He replaced the previous Director of Finance and Risk Management Fuad Rizal.
Prasetio is not a new face in the BUMN board of directors. A graduate of the Faculty of Economics, Department of Accounting, Airlangga University, had a career in several BUMNs such as serving as Director of Finance at PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines (Persero), Director of Compliance & Risk Management at PT Telkom Indonesia and most recently as President Director of Perum Peruri.

It is hoped that Prasetio’s presence at Garuda’s management can reverse the company’s financial condition. The reason is that until the third quarter of 2020, this state-owned airline has to suffer a loss of USD 1.076 billion or the equivalent of IDR 15.29 trillion (IDR 14,214 / US dollar). The Covid-19 pandemic also caused Garuda’s operating income to drop by 67%.
After dismissing Garuda’s director of finance, Erick Thohir in the afternoon reorganized the board of directors of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero). Through SK -377 / MBU / 11/2020, the Ministry of BUMN officially appointed Eko Taufik Wibowo as Director of Finance and Investment in Fertilizer Indonesia replacing Indarto Pamoengkas, who was mandated with other duties by shareholders. In addition, through this decree, the BUMN Minister also reappointed Gusrizal as Marketing Director of Indonesian Pupuk.
Finally, the Ministry of SOEs made changes to the composition of the board of directors at PT Len Industri (Persero) by assigning Indarto Pamoengkas as Director of Finance and HR replacing Priadi Ekatama Sahari. This determination was ratified by submitting the Decree of the Minister of BUMN Number: SK-376 / MBU / 11/2020. Indarto previously served as Director of Finance and Investment at Pupuk Indonesia.

BUMN Minister Erick Thohir previously said that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic had spurred a business transformation within BUMN. This was done in an effort to help the Indonesian economy in dealing with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. “Covid forces us to change faster,” said Erick in a virtual video in Jakarta, recently.
According to him, the transformation of this BUMN is also part of the evaluation of the Ministry itself, in order to change the work structure that had been overlapping between Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Deputies in ministries.
“We fix it, the Minister and Deputy Minister and we apply AKHLAK to the CEOs of BUMN,” he explained.
