Holiday fuel prices have risen significantly. Be careful where you refuel

For a long time, the world crude oil market has produced more raw material than needed. The imbalance was exacerbated by the coronavirus epidemic, which froze companies for many weeks and grounded people, resulting in a huge drop in fuel demand. This was reflected in the prices at the stations.

Even in February, the most popular type of Pb95 gasoline cost on average almost PLN 5. Over the next little more than two months, prices at stations dropped systematically to drop clearly below PLN 4 in the first days of May. As the economy thawed, hikes returned.

At the moment, depending on the voivodship, average prices range from 4.17 to 4.27 PLN – according to BM Reflex data.

Eight hours at work are obsolete. The presidential candidate is surprising

This is most noticeable at specific local stations. Olsztyńska “Wyborcza” notes that at the Carrefour network station at ul. Krasicki at the beginning of the epidemic, one liter of gas could be refueled for PLN 3.79. Now this station is almost the most expensive in the city and is 4.21 PLN per liter. It’s over 40 groszy of a copy (the price increased by 11%).

– Drivers did not wait for such a beginning of holidays – experts indicate BM Reflex. And they warn that price increases of several weeks this week, especially in the case of gasoline, may be continued.

Fuel is getting more expensive everywhere but the rates are uneven

– When planning holiday travel, pay attention to the place of refueling. This is important because of the large price diversity at stations, which reaches up to PLN 0.30 per liter. Those looking for savings should avoid refueling on highways or in tourist destinations, where prices are usually the highest – experts advise.

And what does it look like at the regional level?

BM Reflex data shows that it is the cheapest in the Pomeranian Voivodeship (on average 4.17 PLN per liter). Rates below PLN 4.20 are also in Lower Silesia, Lublin, Silesia, Warmian-Masuria and Łódź. The most you have to pay for gasoline in Opolskie (4.27 PLN) and Lesser Poland and Lubuskie (4.25 PLN each).

They are not alone in their forecasts. Also e-petrol.pl analysts expect further increases.

– Given the global market trends and indigenous “returns to normal” for the COVID-19 pandemic, further price increases can be expected. Stations will probably transfer such moods soon and we should see the continuation of the upward movement – they comment on the situation.

Experts from e-petrol.pl expect July Pb95 prices at 4.16-4.29 PLN per liter. In the case of diesel, prices will be close to these levels – they expect a range of 4.15-4.26 PLN. The increase will probably also apply to autogas, which may cost PLN 1.95-2.03.

It is worth remembering, however, that the point of view depends on the point of seating. Current prices are relatively high compared to the hole in early May. However, relative to the beginning of this year and last holidays, we can still talk about big reductions. At that time, the norm was PLN 5-5.20 per liter of gasoline.

– Even if in the following weeks fuel prices would rise, they will not approach these high levels – experts from BM Reflex assess.
