Hogwarts Legacy postponed to February 2023, Switch version to follow later – Gaming – News

Avalanche Software postpones Hogwarts Legacy for the second time. The final release of the RPG is now due on February 10, 2023 for the ‘PlayStation, Xbox and PC’. The release date for the Nintendo Switch version will be announced later.

The subsidiary of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment says in a tweet need more time to ‘provide the best gaming experience possible’. This marks the first time there has been an announcement surrounding the game emphatically suggesting a different release date for the Nintendo Switch version of the game. The release date of February 10, 2023 only applies to the versions for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S. It is unlikely that the Switch version will come out earlier than the variant for the other platforms.

Initially, Hogwarts Legacy was supposed to be released sometime in 2021, but the game was postponed to 2022 at the beginning of that year. No concrete release date was shared at the time. Later it was promised that the game before the end of 2022 would come out, which was later specified to ‘the 2022 holidays’. All the while, the version for Nintendo Switch seemed to be coming out at the same time.

Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG set in the Harry Potter universe. The game takes place several hundred years before the events of JK Rowling’s popular books. In Hogwarts Legacy, players create their own character who is taught the magic of Hogwarts.
