Hockey / World Juniors: United States unveils guest list for selection camp

The United States has unveiled the guest list for the team’s selection camp for the World Junior Hockey Championship kicking off Dec. 26 in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alta.

Six players from the 2021 edition are back, defenders Jake Sanderson, Tyler Kleven and Brock Faber, as well as forwards Matthew Beniers, Brett Berard and Landon Slaggert.

The choice of 2e The Canadian’s 2020 round of Luke Tuch is not on the list disclosed by USA Hockey. The forward is still missing a point in six games with Boston University this season.

The name of Jacob Perreault is not found there either, while the striker of the San Diego Gulls in the American League has probably not received the official immigration papers according to our colleague from RDS Stéphane Leroux.

Perreault has seven goals and fifteen points in as many games in his second season with the professionals.

31 players have received an invitation to the training camp which begins Dec. 12 in Plymouth, Michigan.

A total of 25 players will be selected for the competition.

The American team is led by Nate Leaman, who will be assisted in his task by Ted Donato, Kris Mayotte and Steve Miller. The Americans are the defending champions of the tournament after their victory in the final over Canada last year.
