Hockey: HC Braga to sue Sporting for hiring João Almeida

The Hóquei Clube de Braga announced this Wednesday, through a statement, that it will “advance with all legal procedures” against Sporting for the hiring of João Almeida. The Minho club, which introduced the athlete on July 7th as a reinforcement, considers that the athlete has a contract to fulfill with the club, despite having been presented on August 2nd by Sporting.

“In fact, even before July 7, the commitment between the player and the Hóquei Clube de Braga was already signed, with the signing of documentation and formalization of this commitment, with the payment of a pecuniary amount”, says the Minho club. in the statement.

HC Braga states that “there are documentary evidences and records with third parties that support” the connection still valid between club and player, also referring that it tried to “not fuel controversy, in favor of a relationship of total cordiality” with Sporting and that ” it tried to solve this problem, which it did not cause and which it is the victim of the damage suffered so far, in a peaceful and non-litigious manner».

HC Braga refers that, «timely, it took certain initiatives that it saw fit to take, but which, unfortunately, were not received by the other parties», making the case now public.

“Thus ended the silence that we have resolved, in good time so far, to maintain on this matter, in order to give João Almeida and Sporting the opportunity to deal with the player’s disengagement from Hóquei Clube de Braga,” the statement added.

The Minho club states that the next step is to “enforce the rights and compensate for the financial and sporting losses that these unthinking attitudes caused”.

“We thus instruct our legal services to proceed with all the legal procedures necessary to achieve these two objectives”, concludes the communiqué signed by the management.
