Historical Warfare and Target Pursuit Rain

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Wales will collide with English for the first time in the World Cup Finals. Because Wales wants this war to be a sweet story.

The final match of Group B will take place on Tuesday (29/11) Qatar time or Wednesday (30/11) at morning WIB. This is a game of life and death which determines qualification for the round of 16.

Reflecting on history, Wales is inferior to England. In 103 meetings since January 18, 1879, the Dragons won just 14 times, tied 21 times and lost the remaining 68 times.

During the 21st century or the last six matches, Gareth Bale and his friends have always lost. Wales last won against England on 2 May 1984.

But the story cannot be a reference to the World Cup. The proof is that there have been many surprises, where the giants have been able to overthrow the favorite team to win the 2022 World Cup.

Also, there is the fact that England was arrested by the United States on November 25th. Previously the US was also held by Wales. This means that there is a chance to play a draw, even win.

If you look at the composition of the players, Wales have really lost their class. Of the 26 Welsh players at the 2023 World Cup, only seven appeared in the top flight of the English Premier League.

Wales captain Bale is also currently involved in the US competition with Los Angeles FC. Although Bale is still 33 years old, his performance is believed to have significantly declined.

Bale’s only goal at the 2022 World Cup came from a penalty. In this sense, the offensive side of Rob Page’s team has not been sufficiently tested.

Not just at the World Cup, Wales have only won twice in nine games in 2022. They conceded more than scored, 13 out of 10 goals.

However, Wales refused to be discouraged. The duel against England is not just a fight. Also, this match is often associated with a battle for national pride.
