NEW YORK — A 58-year-old Hispanic woman was the victim of a violent armed robbery just before midnight Monday at her Brooklyn apartment, New York City Police said.

According to information from the authorities, the 15-minute nightmare occurred inside a residence located at 196 Rockaway Parkway when two men, just before 12:00 am, posed as Con-Ed workers.

At that moment, they forced their way into the apartment and bound the victim, a 58-year-old Hispanic woman, with duct tape and threatened to shoot her if she screamed, the uniformed woman added. One of the suspects had a firearm.
