High prices and consequences for the gaming industry (and buying advice for me!)

Bye! Want a new gaming PC after 8 years, but the prices are discouraging. Like most middle-class people, I’m not rich, and a console for 6k is a significantly lower investment than 20k for a PC. Given the choice, I’d rather have a PC, but my pain limit has been reached. So a few questions for discussion:
– Do you think prices will go down?
– Are there any other arguments for still investing in a PC now?
– What do high component prices mean for PC gaming as a form of culture? There must be more people like me not buying a computer, which leads to lower game sales.
