According to the results of the analysis of a group of foreign scientists, which were published in the BMJ Nutrition Prevention & Health magazine, consuming a large amount of vitamins A, E and D, you can help reduce the likelihood of contracting respiratory diseases in adults.

Experts note that the findings require further verification and study among different ethnic groups and geographic regions, taking into account the current epidemiological situation associated with the coronavirus. However, consuming minerals and vitamins in acceptable amounts has a positive effect on the immune system.

Researchers analyzed information on more than 6 thousand participants in the National Diet and Nutrition Research Program (NDNS RP) between 2008 and 2016. Each of them filled out a food diary for 3 or more days.

As a result, only 33 people developed respiratory symptoms. These participants in the experiment most often turned out to be older people. In addition, they rarely consumed this group of vitamins.

LIVE24 previously reported refuted the benefits of vitamin C in case of flu or SARS. The doctor said that an excess of vitamins in the diet sometimes affects human health worse than their deficiency.
