Alexandra Palace, London – Round two of the London Squash Classic presented by Bassim Haidar commenced today with notable performances, including a win for Murphy as players battled for advancement at ally Pally. I know thes two are probably going to be world No.1 and No.2 at some point,so I’m happy I’ve got these wins over them. Now I can retire and be a happy man. Jonah’s the future of this country and we need to support him a lot, he’s a future World No.1 and World Champion.”
ElShorbagy, who first entered the top 10 of the PSA World Rankings when his opponent was just five years old, acknowledged his own physical limitations, stating, “I don’t have much time left, I know that. I don’t have the energy I used to have, but I’m still at No.7 in the world and I’m still one of the best players in the world. Every time I’m on court, I have a chance, and as long as I’m playing I will give it everything.”
