A woman was reportedly shot while en route to receive aid from a distribution center west of Rafah, according to sources at Nasser Medical Hospital in Khan Yunis.
The “gaza Humanitarian Organization” had announced on Thursday its allocation of aid for women, inviting them to its centers in central and southern Gaza since Wednesday to collect food parcels.
In a statement released Thursday, the Israeli army reported monitoring the firing of a missile shell from the Khan Yunis area towards the humanitarian aid distribution complex in Rafah on Wednesday night. The army accused Hamas and other factions of attempting to disrupt the operations of these distribution centers.
The shell reportedly landed approximately 250 meters from the complex, near the Morag axis in Rafah, causing no injuries or damage to the site, according to the army’s statement.
The statement further noted that,”Irrespective of this attack,the complex was opened this morning to distribute tens of thousands of weekly food parcels to Palestinian families.”
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, issued a brief statement on Telegram claiming duty for bombing a “driving and control site of the enemy in the Morag axis with a short-range 114 mm missile system” on Wednesday evening.
Eight Israeli soldiers injured in vehicle ramming incident
in a separate incident, the Israeli army announced on Thursday that eight soldiers sustained injuries when a driver “deliberately” drove his vehicle into a bus.Police have classified the event as a “terrorist attack.”
The army reported that two soldiers suffered moderate injuries, while six others sustained minor injuries in the attack, which occurred at an intersection near the city of Kfar Yona in central Israel.
Israeli police spokesperson Dauds stated that the incident was “a terrorist attack, as a terrorist ran over people who were standing here waiting for the bus.”
He added that the driver attempted to flee, prompting a large police response. Forces surrounded the area and initiated a search for the individual, utilizing helicopters, motorcycles, and a specialized canine unit, according to an Israeli police statement.
