The patient’s son (Abu Hassan) tells the story of his father’s suffering with the disease, saying that his father’s health condition has deteriorated significantly during the recent period, as he was feeling very thirsty, losing a lot of weight significantly, in addition to his inability to eat, and his feeling of dizziness and extreme fatigue when standing. with any effort.

He added, “One day, when my father was going to the mosque, he fainted while praying, and immediately a friend took him to the nearest hospital to us (Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital in Abu Dhabi).”

And the son continued, “Immediately, my father was admitted to the emergency department in the hospital, and after seeing the doctor, he requested that the necessary laboratory tests and analyzes be performed, as the results of the tests showed a severe increase in blood sugar, and there is a possibility that he has type 1 diabetes, and he must be treated.” He took medications and injections (insulin) for diabetes,” noting that “the doctor advised to review the diabetes clinic, follow a diet to prevent high sugar levels, and exercise regularly.”

The patient’s son (Abu Hassan) said, “My father followed the doctor’s advice, and indeed his condition began to improve, with his commitment also to taking diabetes medications on a daily basis, but a while ago he began to feel shortness of breath.”

The son added, “After that, he was taken to the hospital to see the doctor who was treating him, where the doctor requested some tests, the results of which showed that he had high blood pressure, an increase in cholesterol, and a deficiency in some vitamins.”

The patient’s son indicated that «after that, and about two months ago, my father felt severe shortness of breath, and immediately he was taken to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital, and he was resuscitated, and then they transferred him to the cardiac surgery department, because he had blockage in three arteries, as he was Stents were installed for him, and he stayed a week in the hospital to monitor his condition.

The son stated that his father currently needs continuous follow-up and regular medication, pointing out that if he does not take the medication, this will cause him complications, which poses a threat to his life.

The patient’s son explained, “The costs of my father’s medicines for treating heart disease, pressure, and high cholesterol, in addition to medicines for diabetes, in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital, amount to 29,510 dirhams, for a year.”

The son confirmed that he is completely unable to provide even a small part of the costs of his father’s treatment, indicating that he is the sole breadwinner for his family, which consists of six members, and he works in a private agency with a salary of 4,500 dirhams, of which he pays 1,200 dirhams for rent, and the remainder of the salary hardly covers it. requirements of daily life.

The patient’s son said, “Our financial situation is very bad, so I appeal to philanthropists to help us afford the costs of my father’s medicines.”
