Spielberg will kick off the Formula 1 World Championship for the first time on July 5, and the racing series in Styria will start with two races from the corona pandemic. The importance is enormous, how do you classify it? As unique?
Helmut Marko: That’s right, it has never been done before. It is of immense importance for Austria in that not only does the Formula 1 World Championship start for us for the first time, but it is also the first major international event after the corona pandemic. Austria is in the spotlight, the races can be seen globally – there are major digital events, the interest is enormous. Austria is primarily an export and tourism country, so the start of Formula 1 alone is not only enormous in terms of advertising and image value, but rather priceless.
Does the same apply to Formula 1? After all, Spielberg’s concept serves as a “blueprint” for all other events.
