The downed aircraft appears to belong to REACH Air Medical Services, which confirmed three crew members were among those hurt. The cause of the crash remains under examination by the Federal Aviation Management and California Highway Patrol. This incident underscores the inherent risks faced by medical transport teams providing critical care and rapid response services.
Witnesses described seeing white smoke rising from the wreckage. “It’s really sombering and sobering,” said a pilot who frequently flies with sheriff’s department pilots. “I am up flying with sheriff pilots that do this day in and day out. And it really makes you grateful for every day and grateful for our officers and our medical pilots.”
officer Michael harper,a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol,stated the road near the crash site will be closed for a meaningful duration. officer Mike Carillo added that the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
