The FBI warned last week that authorities in the United States should reckon with armed protests in state parliaments today. That is why a number of states scaled up and extreme security measures were implemented in several large cities. For the time being, however, it is quiet there.
Security measures were taken to protect state parliaments from the kind of violence that occurred on January 6 the storming of the Capitol. For example, in Washington DC there is a lot more police around, the National Guard has been deployed, windows have been boarded up and there are many fences around the government buildings.
